Fully LiPo compatible with low-voltage detection for 2s and 3s packs and rated for 6-12 NiMH cells, this potent, powerful combo gives E-Revo VXL precise throttle control and blistering top speed. Install a second 6-cell battery to unleash the Velineon Brushless Power System's full fury, and E-Revo VXL jumps to over 50 mph.īuilt specifically for Traxxas 1/16 scale models, the VXL-3m ™ speed control and Velineon ® 380 motor represent the latest in brushless technology. At 30+ mph with the included 6-cell NiMH battery, E-Revo VXL is faster than most mini models and even 1/10 scale electric RTR trucks. Some mini-models are "fast for a mini." That's not good enough for Traxxas. Rocker-actuated suspension for superior handling and control.7.2 volt Traxxas Power Cell NiMH battery with iD ®.I have a Revo 3.3 and there is alot of resistance in the steering.QUICK FEATURES ON 1/16 E-REVO VXL (71076-8) I believe that I could fix your car within 10 or 15 minutes, so it does not sound like a big deal. Now I take which ever batteries have freshest charge, I don't even think of the possibility of a battery issue causing me to retire early while racing. In the bad old days, I would always be concerned and would take my best batteries and hope for the best. No carbon fiber chassis and no flat bottom truggies attempting to claim monster classification.īefore making my battery tester / discharger, my car had fallen over due to lack of battery capacity before the ned of a long race. I race 'Clubman' where you can change anything except the engine and the chassis. ![]() I used to race 3 classes, but no longer race 'Stock'. I have Mugen buggies and truggies and about 20 Revos. I don't know that you ever want to hit the Revo 6v car battery with 1 amp, but if you use your car a lot and batteries are being exercised, they will take a higher charge rate without tripping the charger. This will exercise a troublesome cell and after two charges, a battery that you may have tossed is back in service and operating faultlessly. If I had a battery that caused the charge light on the Traxxas charger to report a fully charged battery, yet it did not hold a charge, I would discharge it, and recharge it with 0.2 amps. That was all fine and when I charge my batteries they take a charge and they hold it. I calculated the current draw with either battery type, with 1 - 4 globes in circuit, then I went and measured the draw with different numbers of globes in circuit. When the lights are very dim, then the discharge voltage is right. I always discharge my batteries before charging. There are two contacts on the board where I can check battery voltage under load. ![]() This tester is for 6v and 7.2v batteries. I can load the battery by connecting from 1 - 4 globes in parallel. I made up a board with my 4 globe holders scewed to the board. I made a battery tester using the multi lead charger harness, A-mains would have these.Ģ x 4 mm female banana sockets from Mouser were used.Ĥ small Narva metal globe holders and 4 minature Narva 12v / 10 watt globes act as my load. Is steering tight, it should not be tight ie binding. Remove screw that connects steering links to servo horns. Your Traxxas charger may be telling you that your battery is charged and it may not be.īypass the optidrive or other electronics and connect to the receiver with a known good servo. The battery is an 1,100 ma/hr battery, I will mention battery testing shortly. I don't have Oti-drive or reverse and use only g/box with close ratio, centre diff, vented fron brake and rear brake. Someone mentioned top / bottom ball joints being too tight.ģ) A dead servo which could be in the wiring.Ĥ) I can't recall if the optodrive over rides the steering as well as the throttle. The likely causes for lack of steering are:Ģ) Binding in the steering.
